Job title Package Engineer Req ID 5754BR Job category Procurement & Supply Chain Management Sub-category Supply Chain & Logistics Countries (State/Region) United States - New Jersey Location Wayne Role synopsis Provide package engineering support for the development of new packages, solve routine packaging issues, develop packaging cost-of-goods reduction recommendations while working with cross-functional teams, suppliers and/or consultants and providing accurate and timely package specifications to the Americas Supply Chain. Key accountabilities - Coordinate and lead the development of Bp packaging and shipping requirements. - Assure primary and secondary packaging component compatibility. - Assure packaging performance in field applications. - Provide technical support for trouble shooting packaging lines at Bp and third-party blending/packaging locations. - Support the development, preparation and submission of specifications for packaging components. - Coordinate the development and evaluate all necessary package testing, protocols and certifications. - Provide input into packaging RFIs, RFQs and RFPs. - Qualify and validate new component suppliers and/or processes. - Work on cross-functional project teams while providing technical support. - Interpret package test results and provide recommendations. Essential criteria & qualifications - Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. - A minimum of a Bachelors Degree. - Experience in specifying corrugate, injection, blow-molding and printed label components. - Working knowledge of corrugate, injection blow molding and printing technology. - A minimum of 5 years of experience with packaging. - Specific software knowledge such as CAPE. - Experience with distribution environment issues and solutions. - Proven ability to partner with internal and external customers. - Excellent project management and time management skills. Desirable criteria & qualifications - BS or MS Degree in Package Engineering. - Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. - Knowledge of MS Office.
