Security Officer Job ID: 10881 Location: DC - Washington Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Previous Page Responsibilities Reports to the Security Manager (Facility Security Officer) within the facility. The FSO has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Corporate Security Manager. Assists the FSO with initiating, processing, and maintaining security clearances for employees at the facility where located. Assist with the development of the security policies and procedures required for the classification, downgrading, upgrading, and safeguarding of classified information at the local facility. Processes visit authorization requests. Performs document control duties including check-out and check-in of classified documents. Provide support for check-in, check-out, and set-up of classified computers. Assist with directing and monitoring all of the technical aspects of the facility DoD, DoE or other industrial security program. Perform duties as Security Officer for secured facility. Ensures the timely processing of initial clearances and maintenance of current security clearances, using eQIP and the JPAS systems. Conduct all administrative tasks associated with the industrial security operation to include conducting briefings and drafting letters, memoranda, policies or procedures on security matters, as required. Ensure compliance with all government regulations affecting the facility, export-related regulations, and where necessary acts as back-up to Health and Safety staff to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and procedures. Identify and assist with investigations of any security violations and/or suspected compromises. Provide advice and assistance to Alion staff in connection with security matters. Proactively identify and apprise the FSO of developments, problems, and/or general status of facility security operations. Assist in development of and monitors department budget as required. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of directly related experience in the DoD Industrial Security Program. A Secret security clearance required. NISPOM FSO certification or course work preferred. Experience using JPAS and eQIP required. Experience using Security Information Management Systems (SIMS) software and C-CURE Access Control & Security Management software preferred. Experience working with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) preferred. In some cases, educational and/or experience requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years of applicable experience. Work experience may be adjusted for a high degree of specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong knowledge of eQIP and the JPAS systems and the DoD NISPOM regulatory manual. Knowledge of the DoE or other government security regulatory manuals a plus. Knowledge and experience conducting investigations and drafting policies and procedures. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
