JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the area of investigative/mechanistic toxicology using established and novel methodology, and contributing to scientific experiments. S/he will also assist in the development of new methodologies and contribute to the origination and development of new projects.
Responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to:
• in vitro cell-based assays to evaluate pre-clinical drug safety
• routine cell line maintenance and cell line development
• assay work including ELISAs and western blots
• mRNA isolation and qPCR analysis
• rodent handling and dosing for in vivo mechanistic toxicology studies
• participation in performing drug tolerance studies
• summarizing and interpreting data
• developing follow-up strategies for study findings or issues as needed
The candidate should be able to work with multidisciplinary teams and may be required to perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
Candidates must be organized and able to work well in a team setting. The candidate must be computer literate in MS Windows-based applications, possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, write and understand English to comply with written procedures, instructions, SOPs and other documents.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in cellular/molecular biology, toxicology, or a related field in life sciences is preferred, but a BS or MS with 2 or more years direct experience is acceptable.
