Sourcing Manager- Contract Manufacturing

Title: Sourcing Manager- Contract Manufacturing Location: NY-New York Manage a multi-million dollar portfolio of Third Party, Contract Manufacturing spend in the Beauty Business. This includes, but is not limited to, developing supply strategies to meet overall corporate objectives of service, quality, innovation, and achieving the lowest total delivered costs through Supply Chain Integration. All in support of servicing the Avon Representative.  Independently develop supply base strategies to support North American and / or Global supply and meet business objectives. Implement such strategies and revise as business conditions warrant. -          Understand market factors that affect those decisions including make vs. buy framework. -          Be innovative with cost reduction opportunities (drive out waste, negotiate with data, cost modeling, etc.) -          Understanding of total cost drivers, specifically conversion costs and use creatively in cost negotiations/discussions. -          Apply progressive costing/negotiation tactics to deliver the lowest total delivered cost to all markets. -          Strong contract negotiation skills through to Long-Term Agreement execution. -          Utilize systems and PC software applications (spreadsheets, presentation packages (PowerPoint) word-processing, etc.) in support of sound business recommendations and decision making. -          Experience with developing cost budgets, operating plans and tracking PPV Serve as department lead on SERVICE improvement initiatives - working closely with each Beauty Sourcing associate - as well as cross-functionally. This will involve sharp communication skills and keen influence management abilities. This role will be expected to interface with all levels of management, and create service tracking reports for Beauty sourcing.  This role requires in-depth knowledge of the interfaces in Supply Chain and how it translates to Avons marketing and sales business model. * Develop strategic supply base capabilities and strategies that are in-line with marketing objectives that supports Concept to Market needs, improved service flexibility and complement internal manufacturing capability.  * Successfully lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives with key strategic suppliers in support of Business Transformation goals: cost savings, lead-time and minimum order quantity reduction, increased inventory turns, improved processes, etc.  * Lead, manage, and influence projects to successful completion.  * Develop measurements and KPI's to track continuous improvement opportunities/initiatives. * Track and measure financial cost savings for outside vendors based on purchase variation and rebates, as well as track cost avoidance, contributions to other markets, currency fluctuations and their impact, and savings cannibalization. * Serve as direct liaison between Sourcing and other cross-functional groups: Finance, Marketing, Global Research and Development, Manufacturing, Other Markets, Quality and the Supply Chain organization to influence focus and activities that support Avon's Operating agenda. B.A. in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Logistics;MBA desired Minimum 5 years in Sourcing in Personal Care, Pharmaceutical industry or Consumer Packaged Goods industry. 2-3 year Sourcing with Contract Manufacturers preferred. Manufacturing, Lean Thinking Principles / Six Sigma, Finance, Planning and/or Logistics experience a plus. 3 years of Project Management experience a plus. Formal training using structured strategic sourcing process a plus. * PC proficiency, specifically: * strong spreadsheet construction and analysis * presentation applications * J.D. Edwards (or similar) experience desired * Use of the internet as a tool for Purchasing information and data collection.
