Senior Business Analyst - Business Intelligence Group Job Summary This is a great consulting opportunity for an experienced and innovative individual that functions extremely well as both a Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst . As a member of the Business Intelligence Technical Solutions Group (BITS), they will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with other very bright individuals working on new and exciting projects. This is a highly visibility position requiring interaction with all levels of management and supporting both the business and technology groups. Required Skills: The candidate must have strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills . They must be able to function independently throughout the lifecycle of a project and also a strong "A" team player and flexible to adapt as the projects evolve. Must be proficient at translating business needs to technical requirements and highly experienced in requirements gathering, system and workflow analysis, functional specifications, use-case writing, process and design diagrams and proficient with MS Project, Visio and Excel . Technical skills and Responsibilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must Responsibilities will include developing project schedules, managing team resources, creating work breakdown structures, estimating size and effort for new development projects, as well as develop detailed requirements for these projects Provide direction to resources, monitor development efforts, assemble key project deliverables, report project status, and raise awareness on issues requiring escalation Candidate must have strong presentation and leadership skills , follow-through and analytical skills Must be detail-oriented with abilities to multi-task and to effectively handle changing requirements and priorities Full life cycle methodology including change management processes and ensuring changes are properly tested and migrated to production Proficiency in MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Visio Must have strong interpersonal skills / relationship skills and willingness to present to large groups at all levels of the organization Liaison between business users and technical staff throughout project lifecycle Experienced in leading assessments of current business processes/requirements Develop detailed functional requirement and design documents for web based and reporting solutions Work with project team to document, design and create innovative solutions Must be familiar with technology concepts and terminology Lead/Support System Testing and User Acceptance Testing Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to less experienced staff members Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work independently with limited supervision or as part of a team Professional, energetic and self-motivated with a well defined work ethic Familiarity with relational databases and software development tools and methodologies Experience working with a Analytic Tools such as Entity Relationship Diagramming used in Data Modeling a plus (not required) Working knowledge of life insurance business, terms, and processes a plus Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience analyzing and solving business problems (Masters or MBA Degree preferred a plus) PMP certification a plus Please refer to job code 09-01718 when responding to this ad.
