Medical Information Specialist III

Title: Medical Information Specialist III

Status:  Full-time Consulting Engagement, 37.5 hours/week

Length: Long-term assignment in 6 month increments

Receive and respond to telephoned medical / scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals regarding all marketed products and products being prepared for launch or assigned products.  Respond to medical / scientific inquiries utilizing MIC’s medical response database on all products across all therapeutic areas in primary care and specialty business units or as specifically assigned.  Provide a high degree of “first call” resolution.  Escalate appropriate inquiries to Medical Information Manger (MIM) or Associate Director (MIAD).  Document inquiry in MIC’s electronic database and provide written response as needed.  Participate in field force new hire training.  Utilize advanced customer service skills to meet or exceed customer expectations.  Provide medical inquiry support to field force including fulfillment of Standard Reponses.  Develop Standard Response Documents for assigned products in therapeutic area.  Continue professional development with ongoing education in professional discipline; awareness of emerging trends and issues in healthcare in general, the pharmaceutical industry and Medical Information & Communication specifically through participation in appropriate educational activities; raising and addressing quality issues associated with Medical Information & Communication procedures.  Gather and share customer insights with Product Specialist/Brand Team.  Provide high level, broad based information support across all NPC products and TAs to “business” oriented departments for commercial activities to other cross therapeutic area departments.  Regularly meet with MIM / MIADs to share product information.

Requirements: PharmD, MD or healthcare related PhD.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Call center environment experience.  Advanced phone call handling techniques.  Understanding of customer social styles and ability to respond to meet caller expectations.  Experience working in large pharmaceutical
company.
