Designer - Entry Level, Mechanical The position requires knowledge and application of fundamental design/drafting concepts, practices, procedures and established standards to produce products and services that are of high quality, striving for zero defects. May be required to research products independently and/or accurately interpret instructions from Engineers and Lead Designers. Produce fully dimensioned detail and assembly drawings of medium complexity. Complete calculations pertaining to physical properties and the tolerancing and fit of components and assemblies in mechanical systems. May be required to direct the activities of other design personnel fostering positive team interactions. Selected applicants will be subjected to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. U.S. citizenship is required. Job Requirements : Knowledge of fundamental design and drafting concepts AAS Computer Aided Drafting, Mechanical/Industrial Technology Degree or Equivalent Other Skills :* Computer Aided Design/moderately complex three dimensional modeling experience * Demonstrated knowledge and application of fundamental design and drafting concepts obtained through an internship, related work experience, or school project * GPA 2.8/4.0 * Positive academic performance trend in mathematical and physical science course work * Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate mechanical design concepts * Demonstrated ability to research assignments, identify key tasks and milestones, and complete assignments as planned to customer or personal commitments * Demonstrated ability to manage work with the appropriate levels of independence * Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment * Demonstrated ability to provide high levels of customer service * Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Industrial Technology Offer Relocation :No Location :Niskayuna NY US 12309 Exemption :Non-Exempt Hire Type :Direct US Citizenship Required :Yes
