Job Details |Back to Search Page| Job Title: Senior Auditor Department: Audit Requisition #: D 09 035 Requisition Numbers: D 09 035 Job Summary: The Senior Auditor will plan and execute audits of Headquarters and overseas operations in accordance with Governmental Auditing Standards and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Responsibilities: 1. Create timely audit reports that are based upon disciplined audit programs as documented in professionally prepared work papers. 2. Produce an audit plan at the inception of each audit. 3. Maintain audit standards designed to further the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in all operations. 4. Work collaboratively with the auditee to share knowledge, perform root cause analysis, and agree on practical and effective recommendations for improvement. 5. Ensure deadlines and expectations are met, and standards for work products are adhered to. 6. Participate in meetings to explain the purpose and content of the audit, define information required from the auditee, and explain findings and recommendations. 7. Assess internal controls and perform risk assessments to determine the level of testing required. 8. Prepare and index work-papers, ensuring that files are organized, legible, and logically developed. 9. Be able to articulate the adequacy of internal controls, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and compliance with policies and procedures. 10. Have a strong understanding of the COSO internal control framework and develop effective recommendations accordingly. NOTE: The Senior Auditor position could eventually lead to a Team Leader position. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor degree in accounting or finance required, MBA preferred 2. Certification, CPA and/or CIA desired 3. Minimum of five years prior auditing experience in progressively responsible roles within internal audit 4. Work experience with a non-profit organization or USAID preferred 5. Experience leading audits is a plus Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 2. Superior analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. 3. Exceptional project management skills. 4. Able to work well under pressure. 5. Proven ability to use office productivity software currently in use at CRS. Travel: Must be available and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to countries where CRS has operations. Foreign Language Required: Fluency in French or Spanish preferred, but not required. Major Responsibilities of Position: Program Design, Finance, Monitoring/Evaluation, Report Writing NOTE: All interested applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application.
