Basic Job Function: The person in this position will have a unique opportunity to apply solid engineering, business and application knowledge and work with industry leading customers in dynamic environments. The Chief Architect will interface with stakeholders and internal/outsourced resources to develop a technical solutions strategy that will meet or exceed the stakeholders' expectations. This position will also truly act as an 'evangelist' and provide assistance and input to senior management; and oversee large multi-functional development activities; solve complex technical problems, and serve as a senior source of expertise. This position will report directly to the VP of Global Develpment in New Providence NJ as well have a dotted line reporting responsibility to the VP/CTO in Dayton, Ohio. Qualifications: 1. Masters degree or Bachelor's degree with equivalent technical experience 2. Solid understanding of the technologies used within one or more centers of expertise 3. Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance in one or more centers of expertise 4. Ability to lead major technical project design, engineering and integration efforts simultaneously, with attention to detail and closure 5. Excellent communications skills to be able to communicate with stakeholders and customers on new system features and enhancements Accountabilities: 1. Work with two divisions, Client Development and Practice Management across a matrixed environment (Directors, product managers, project managers, business unit partners, architects, etc.) to identify and understand customer workflow and overall architect needs to help in the development of their overall technical solutions strategy as well as the development of new concepts, product requirements and estimates 2. Work closely with B2B and B2C business units to develop solutions that meet the business needs like cost and time to market as well as align with the overall LN architecture. If necessary, provide alternative solutions to business units along with cost/benefit analysis. Be a strong advocate of the needs of the business unit partners and work closely with GSD as well as non GSD peers to meet those needs. 3. Display strong communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with technical (both internal and outsourced) and business personnel as well as external customers 4. Provide answers to customer/stakeholder inquiries concerning system software and applications. Provide software development and consultation to prospective users 5. Foster new business ideas and deliver technical solutions consistent with business unit strategies 6. Analyze concepts and ultimately projects to accurately assess the cost of providing solutions. Work closely with Product Managers and business units to quickly build prototypes to test, evaluate, and demonstrate feasibility of key concepts. 7. Display a deep understanding of the market in which the business unit operates as well as the business units' Competition 8. Provides technical assessment and recommends acquisition and joint venture projects. 9. Provide technical leadership on all aspects of the company designated Development processes 10. Provide technical leadership to offshore/onshore contractors, vendors and other consultants as necessary and work directly with onshore and offshore resources, sometimes before/after regular business hours 11.
