Summary/Description Human Genome Sciences (HGS)is a biopharmaceutical company with approximately 800 employees and world-class R&D and manufacturing facilities based in Rockville, MD. We have three promising products in late-stage development - one, raxibacumab, already commercialized with sales to the U.S, Government and two moving toward commercialization. BENLYSTAT (formerly LymphoStat-B) has successfully met its primary endpoint in the first of two Phase 3 trials in systemic lupus, and we expect to have results of the second BENLYSTA Phase 3 trial in November 2009. ZALBINT (formerly Albuferon) has completed Phase 3 development in chronic hepatitis C, and we expect the submission of global marketing applications in fall 2009. We are developing both of these products in collaboration with world leaders in the pharmaceutical industry. Further, in July 2009, we secured a new purchase order for 45,000 doses of raxibacumab, a drug to combat inhalational anthrax, to be delivered to the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile over a three-year period. Are you good at building high performance teams? In this newly created role, you will help establish our Commercial Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) capabilities within the finance organization. You will work closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and leadership for the BENLYSTA(TM) and ZALBIN(TM) commercial teams. You will be the key financial advisor in supporting the commercial teams in planning/managing budgets, forecasting product revenues and evaluating life cycle management activities. This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly evolving company moving towards commercialization. Primary Responsibilities include: . Manage commercial budget planning, latest estimates, and revenue forecasts; establish business processes to facilitate information flow and decision making . Provide business/financial analysis and decision support on commercial programs and life cycle management investments . Involvement in monthly close and financial reporting to client organization . Serve as commercial finance leadership within partner collaborations for BENLYSTA(TM) and ZALBIN(TM) . Participate in strategic planning and other senior-level management team activities . Develop plan for Commercial FP&A support post product approvals Requirements . Bachelors in finance, accounting or business administration; MBA strongly preferred . 7-10 years of financial planning experience in a commercial organization . Demonstrated ability to be creative, innovative and perform well in new situations . Ability to interact effectively and persuasively with all levels, especially senior leaders and executive management . Strong leadership and communication skills . Superior analytical skills and a strategic mindset . Ability to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams . Health care industry and/or partnership financial management experience a plus
