Title: Claims Operations Analyst Job Category: Health/Medical - Other Location: New York City - Lower Manhattan, NY Job Type: Regular Req Number: heal-00001801 Description: The Claims Operations Analyst is responsible for the tracking and reporting of data and preliminary analysis as it relates to activities which ensure operational effectiveness. Incumbents will assist Management by preparing and verifying reports and interpreting trends. The Operations Analyst owns the accuracy and timeliness of reported data as well as communication and resolution of identified issues involving reports and trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Reporting: Tracking, trending and development of routine and adhoc reports and reporting tools. Identify and request new reporting needs and enhancements to existing reports. Solicit and coordinate required information between management staff to complete daily assignments. 2. Analysis: Review and compare data, trends and information against departmental and corporate standards. identify defects and improve departmental performance by supporting quality and operational efficiency and production goals through review. Present preliminary findings based on trending and interpretation. Requirements: Education Requirements: Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and Skills Required: Supervision Necessary: Work performed under light supervision with only occasional general supervisory review. Independent Action: Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager. Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisors/manager who is available to resolve problems. External contacts/"Customer" Service: Does not require direct contact with external customers/contacts. Internal Contacts: Contact only within own department/group. Independent Judgment: Duties are somewhat routine, requiring occasional independent judgment. Complexity of Tasks: Tasks are clearly defined and for the most part repetitive on a day-to-day basis. Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Basic Microsoft Word and Intermediate Microsoft Excel. Written and Oral Communication: Occasional use of oral and written skills. May explain and offer guidance on routine procedures. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to key. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee regularly works in an indoor environment. Conditions of Employment: Employee must pass pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug testing. Employee must present documentation to verify minimum of high school educational requirement.
