Java J2EE architect

A client of ours located just west of Center City, Philadelphia has an immediate need to bring on a Java J2ee Architect for their team. The main responsibilities of this role will be to oversee a project integrating a Policy Administration System (written in Core Java, Spring, Hibernate) with the other existing systems. The Java Architect will work with the Vendor of the PAS to fully comprehend the architecture and effectively communicate that to the Developers. The Architect will not only become the Subject Matter Expert of the new PAS, but will also be responsible for architecting a solution for the implementation. This position will involve 30-40% hands-on coding as well.

Required Skills:
- 5-7 yrs of Java/J2ee development experience with 2+ years in an architect role.
- Excellent understanding of J2ee Architecture, Core Java, EJB and Web Services.
- Superior communication skill both written and oral
- Past experience working with Software Vendors to implement and customize a solution
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people and vice versa
- Experience with the latest and greatest Development tools/frameworks, including but not limited to: Hibernate and Spring

Nice to Have:
- Insurance Industry experience
- Prior experience implementing a Policy Administration System
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10g
