Development Chemist - Productivity

Title: Development Chemist - Productivity Location: NY-Suffern We are seeking a Development Chemist to join our Productivity group. The candidate must work well with minimum supervision in the evaluation of raw ingredients and development of formulas to support Productivity initiatives. Identifies cost effective ingredients and formulations for multiple product categories including skincare, personal care and color cosmetic products with the goal of reducing product cost or manufacturing complexity while maintaining or enhancing quality and performance. Works cross functionally with Supply Chain, internal R&D groups and ingredient suppliers to support savings projects. Must be able to manage multiple projects, report on technical subjects and be a diligent problem solver while maintaining a clear sense of priority and focus. BS or BA in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in formulating emulsions, surfactants and/or color cosmetic based products. Knowledge of cosmetic raw ingredients and their chemistries required. Experience in cost reducing formulations is preferred. Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills and be able to work successfully in a cross functional environment with team members from Sourcing, Manufacturing, Package Development and R&D. Requires computer proficiency.
