This role is to work closely with the Solutions Architect, DBA, application development team, and customer to design, implement, test, optimize and support networks that support the production/test/staging environment for the customer as well as the development/test/training environments for the project teams.
This position will provide planning, implementation and support for the Windows based Web Hosting infrastructure.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of hardware installation, configuration procedures and implementing best practices in a Windows server environment (Unix is a plus)
Strong knowledge of Virtualization (VMWare is required but experience with other Virtualization technologies is preferred) to deploy and configure an enterprise application in a virtualized environment
Detailed understanding of multiple Microsoft technologies including IIS, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, and deploying web applications built using .NET
Experience in a Linux environment is preferred
Understanding enterprise security and risk and solid experiences related hardware and software configuration across a broad spectrum
Understanding of the appropriate software delivery processes associated within an enterprise software delivery lifecycle
Experience ensuring business continuity by building fail-over and redundancy into all systems and services
Physical server/SAN/Network switches installation/configuration
Standardize procedures and documentation for server installs, migration and consolidation
