Australian Infrastructure Tech Lead

Aavalar Consulting has an immediate requirement for an IT Infrastructure consultant to do a 6 month assignment in Australia.  If you are adventurous and have experience MS Windows Administration, VM Ware,  Exchange Server Administration, and have a basic understanding of SQL Server Database Programming and Administration this might be for you...

We are looking for and individual who is from Australia and wants to get back or someone who *wants* to move to Austrailia.  We are not looking for someone who would reluctantly take the job and expect moving expenses, extra compensation for family members, etc.

Consultant's Title: IT Infrastructure Tech Lead

Work Location: Australia

Work environment:
Varies from a data center in a sales office to manufacturing facilities.

Who does this position will report to?:  VP of Global Infrastructure

Why is there a need for a consultant?
Various infrastructure projects need to be brought to a successful conclusion.  This will require state of the art technology expertise combined with a great people skills and a "can do" attitude.
Technical processes and configurations need to be documented and standardized.

What is the start date of the contract?:  ASAP

What is the anticipated length/scope of the contract?:  Initial 6 month

What is the size of department?:
75 to 100 in main location

What projects will the consultant be involved with?:
MS Windows Server installation, configuration and management.
Install, Configure and Manage VMWare (Some servers run in virtual environment, others on physical machines)
Administration of Exchange Server across the enterprise
Migration of older versions of SQL Server to SQL Server 2005 (basic SQL programming may be needed)
SAN installation, configuration and storage provisioning

Responsibilities:
Be a hands on leader (player/coach) and project manager for several projects in disparate technologies.
Utilized both internal and external IT resources to complete projects.
Collaborate, gain consensus, and be a team builder.
Travel on an as needed basis throughout various Pacific Rim locations if needed.

Role with the group:  Hands on Tech Lead

Required Skills:
Experience working as a project manager, technical lead, or infrastructure architect in a large multi-national enterprise

Hands on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
  - MS Windows Server administration in a VM Ware environment.
  - Exchange Server Administration
  - SQL Server Database Administration and basic SQL Coding

Great People Skills... Need to be a "People Person" who can build teams.

Desired Skills:
Hands on experience with Storage Area Networks
Experience working in one of the following environments:  Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, or other highly regulated industry.

Work Hours and Schedule:  Professional Day with overtime as needed.
