Responsibilities Create, compile, and automate library geometries and symbols for the Mentor Graphics computer-aided design (CAD) tools using the Mentor Design Management System (DMS). Apply IPC and/or APL manufacturing design rules as required. Communicate across technical disciplines and organizational boundaries as needed to resolve issues related to all aspects of the electronic parts library . Automate processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Create schematic symbol, land pattern, mapping and catalog files for parts to be entered into the library. Independently research, understand and collect necessary manufacturer's data for electronic parts to be entered into the library. Maintain and document all procedures for the released library database. Interface across engineering disciplines to satisfy manufacturing processes for various technical fields. Qualifications Required: At least 5 years of experience with translating electronic component data into symbology, geometry land patterns and their associated map/cataloging files for use in the design of printed circuit boards. Must possess excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and organization skills. Be familiar with design and manufacturing processes especially conforming to IPC standards. Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to multitask, good customer service skills and attention to detail are a must. Desired: Knowledge of Mentor Graphic's LMS (Library Management System) or DMS (Data Management System) Knowledge of Mentor Graphic's Boardstation toolset Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tools and Oracle database design 2 year AA in electronic technology Special Work Conditions In order to meet program schedules additional work hours may sometimes be required.
