Responsibilities: * Collaborate with top tier Service Providers & Fortune 1000 enterprise business customers to solve complex distributed computing problems. * Innovate concepts for breakthrough network management products to advance the state of the art & build a pipeline of high impact product ideas. * Transform innovative ideas into well defined requirements & specifications. * Optimize team action plans & communicate risk/opportunity trade-offs. * Prototype & develop high-risk subsystems. * Provide technical guidance to the team during development execution. * Ensure rigorous test in environments effectively modeling live customer networks. * Nurture customer relationships during customer trials to accelerate product adoption. Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in related engineering field with minimum of 12 to 16 years of practical, technical experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Advanced degree preferred. * Completed innovative designs with patents assigned desirable. * Excellent oral and written communication skills including presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical decision makers. * Experience in architecture, design, implementation of complex distributed, real-time systems. * Experience with multiple software languages (e.g. C#, Java, Silverlight, C/C++, scripting languages), development environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Eclipse, Windriver) and operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows Server, VxWorks). * Profound knowledge of distributed networking environments (e.g. TCP/IP). * Understanding of circuit switched and packet core networks and associated technologies such as Packet over SONET (POS), PPP, Ethernet, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, Frame Relay. * Experience with routing protocols such as VRF, BGP, iBGP, MPBGP, OSPF, RIP. * Experience working with Voice Over IP technologies, QoS, and protocols such as H.323, SIP, and Cisco SCCP/Skinny and various codecs * Hands-on experience with network and application management tools (e.g. SNMP, TFTP, SSH, Cisco IP SLA) * Experience with setup and configuration of network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, impairment simulators and firewalls. Preferred: * Experience in building cloud computing infrastructure. * Experience managing server virtualization. * Familiarity with open source tools such as Nagios, Cacti, openNMS * Background in implementing code to perform enterprise application management for such protocols as HTTP, Oracle, Citrix, SAP. * Experience in troubleshooting, and maintaining high-performance IP backbone and aggregation networks and/or large customer router/switch networks.
