Java or C++ Developer

This will be both a development and support. Financial industry experience is highly preferred. Front-office, Trading Banking Loans, Loan Credit Default Swaps, Commodities are the areas of financial business that are preferred.

Candiate should be an excellent communicator and be able to articulate technical as well as business answers to questions. The candidate will be doing both Object Oriented development and support.

Candidate must be a strong, hands on developer in either Java or C++.

RESPONSIBILIITES

The primary role is to design, develop, support and influence the strategic software build-out for Special Asset Group and Bank Debt trading. The applicant will be responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle. The majority of the time will be spent working and interfacing with multiple technology and strategies teams in New York. This is a front office desk role that will require the applicant to sit on the trading desk and offer direct exposure to the business. Typical developers in a similar role will spend 80% of their time developing and 20% of their time supporting.

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

? Strong Java or .NET or C++ programming skills (2-5 years).
? Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
? Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
? Work experience in financial services industry is desirable


QUALIFICATIONS

? A degree in CS/EE with strong academic performance in a rigorous program
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a plus given that the role involves liaising with traders and strategists, operations and controllers.
? The firm and the department are very focused on using technology to increase profitability, so it is critical that the person in this role is willing and able to adapt to different technologies to achieve that goal
