Job Title: Director of Business Development Position Type: Full Time State / Province: New Jersey City: Newark Area of Interest: Sales/Marketing Requisition Number: 2047 Job Type: Exempt Job Description:  GENCO has an immediate opening for Director of Business Development with our Transportation Logistics; Parcel Negotiation and Audit Divisions. This position will be home based, located in or around New Jersey. The Director of Business Development leads Sales efforts in a geographic region to increase market share, meet company sales expectations, achieve margin and profit goals, work with all product managers to improve existing services, and market GENCO to major and mid market organizations; The position of Business Development is a direct selling position in the growth and management of all account activity. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for: * Developing the sales and marketing strategy for the deployment of GENCO services to customer opportunities in a geographic region * Leading the qualification process of new accounts though direct customer solicitation. The responsibility includes qualification services, the identification of target opportunities, and the management of the process for qualifying opportunities. New qualified accounts are accessed, opportunities are assigned to regional sales managers and data from first contact is assessed and reported on * Directly assisting all product managers with account opportunities. This includes attending sales calls to further define the opportunity and develop the value proposition for account closure * Managing the proposal and presentation process for market support * Training all GENCO associates on products provided throughout the organization * Identifying the work to be provided by the GENCO team to insure proposals, account sales strategy, and proposal presentations are generated professionally and provide an excellent opportunity for account award * Directly leading the 3PL sales effort for GENCO. This would be an evaluation of account interest, presentation of services, development of the proposal for services and final presentation * Managing the pricing on all account opportunities to insure profitability is built into each award of business * Continuously working with all GENCO associates to further improve their sales skills and the ability to provide professional contact with all new, existing and potential customers

Requirements:  The successful candidate will have: * A BA/BS degree and ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required * Proven ability within logistics, operations, customer service, and project management * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective customer and teammate relationships * Strategic planning and sales management skills * Effective leadership, team building, mentoring, and oral/written communication skills. Ability to effectively work with centralized and decentralized teammates * Initiative, innovation and strong work standards * Strong communication skills to include oral, written and listening. These communication skills also require the ability to ask appropriate questions, overcome objections and lead the customer to solutions that provide great value and can be provided by GENCO
