Aavalar has been engaged by a client in the Western suburbs of Philadelphia PA to provide a senior level Linux Administrator. This is an immediate high priority requirement.
Position Title: Linux Systems Administrator
Length of Contract: Contract to Hire
Work Location: Philadelphia Area.
Work environment:
Private office in a very nice multi story office building.. "A Space" with easy access and parking.
Who does this position will report to?: Senior Manager of Internet Services
Size of department: 7
Projects involved with:
Upgrade of existing systems to new hardware and software
Responsibilities:
Build new servers and systems
Maintain and upgrade existing operating systems, web servers and application servers
Lead special projects
Role with the group:
Senior level individual contributor
Required Skills:
Senior level experience administering Linux (Debian or RedHat)
Experience maintaining server hardware *
Experience installing and administering Apache web server
Experience installing, updating, troubleshooting and tuning Tomcat and JBoss application servers
Experience administering Linux Virtual Machine - LVM
Experience administering Logical Volume Manager - LVM
Experience doing custom Kernel builds
Desired Skills:
Experience with Solaris
Experience installing and administering MySQL
Scripting experience with Perl and PHP
