Java Web Developer

One of SGAs major financial clients is looking for a Java Developer for acontract position inNew York, NY. Th is role calls for close collaboration with the business to understand quickly and correctly the business needs and provide high quality technology solutions to meet the business needs by leveraging web-based tools and technologies to build applications for the Principal Risk business. The delivery of these solutions will require the successful candidate to work closely with other teams, including various Plan/Analysis teams and AD teams. Responsibilities * Design, develop and deploy applications that are aligned with the business and technology strategies and meets requirements of the business * Participate in project planning sessions with project manager and team members to analyze business requirements provide input to design of technology solution. * Develop strong working relationships with the business and other technology team members teams to delivery quality technology solutions * Provide strong problem management and coordination discipline with inherent capability to perform issue investigation and resolution across wide range of desktop applications * Build up an extensive and practical understanding of specific applications as well as a general end-user understanding in key and critical applications * * Support existing applications by identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner * Document detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules Candidate should have experience with Java, JSP/Servlets, J2EE, JavaScript, Oracle or Sybase, and Weblogic or Websphere. Knowledge of BIRT and/or Wicket (or other Web frameworks)is a plus. Experience with Eclipse and Subversion is also a plus.
