Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Develop new business with a focus on the Navy, and in particular with one or more of the following organizations; Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). * Specific activities include but are not limited to: strategic planning, customer relationship development and maintenance, industry partnership development and maintenance, opportunity development and pursuit. * The candidate, in consultation with the Vice President will oversee and manage their sales pipeline, and develop and execute a tactical sales strategy for the Practice Areas and/or the company targeted Federal clients  * This position will require complete account management responsibility including defining customer requirements, researching customer budget viability for a project, assisting in-house subject matter experts to build a winning solution to meet the customers business needs, and working directly with the capture manager in development of a winning proposal. Other Job Functions: The Director of Business Development will contribute to Proposal Development activities to include: * Developing company marketing material and presenting company capabilities to the customer (government and industry) * Organizing and coordinating proposal response activities * Providing the proposal response team with valuable customer and program insight * Writing assignments * Translating customer requirements to a specific opportunity and capture strategy

Experience/Education: Qual ifications:  * Excellent written and verbal skills, team oriented, flexible, innovative and able to perform well in an unstructured environment are all required. * A clear understanding of the customer organization and culture, with a well-established network of government and industry decision makers. * Ideal candidate will have prior experience working on proposals to Federal government clients; contributing to the writing and review of the document. * Bachelors degree from accredited college preferred. * 5+ years experience marketing and / or business development to US Government Civilian and/or DoD Agencies. * Current or past security clearances preferred.
