Responsibilities: Review data input and output reporting for accuracy and reconcile benefit invoices. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships, handle confidential information with discretion, understand detailed human resources laws and regulations, pay excellent attention to detail, be a self-starter, and work independently. Take an active role in continually evaluating the design of employee benefit plans and programs to ensure they are competitive. Prepare special studies and analysis and make recommendations to management on new and/or improved benefits plans and cost saving measures. Communicate changes to employees. Build ROI analyses on existing and new benefit programs to help senior management understand options and associated costs. Ensure compliance with all local and federal legal requirements as it relates to FreshDirects benefit plans and policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current benefit issues, trends and regulations. Provide excellent customer service to our employees through the timely and accurate resolution of routine and complex employee issues pertaining to company benefit programs. Train front line managers to handle employee questions regarding benefits. Project lead on overall process improvements in all benefit areas. Manage relationship with benefits vendors including our benefits broker and our outsourced benefits partner. Coordinate open enrollment process. Work closely with payroll to insure proper deductions. Produce monthly, and as needed, reports. Upload data in appropriate (vendor/internal) systems. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •Two to three years experience administering medical, dental, life insurance, long and short term disability. •At least one year providing administrative support for 401(k) plans. •Familiarity with an HRIS such as Kronos •Experience with Open Enrollment •Strong proficiency with MS Word and Excel •Strong oral and written communication skills •Strong administration and organization skills; process oriented •Working knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) •Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience •Experience with union benefit programs a plus •Bilingual Spanish / English a plus
