Collections Representative

Description Performs telephonic and letter communications to all past due members to cure delinquency and prevent loss to ESL. Essential Duties & Responsibilites ? Contact all delinquent accounts to attempt collection, loss recognition, fraud detection and problem resolution resulting in minimization of loss and maximization of return. Identify potential problem accounts and refer to Senior Collection representative or Collection Administrator for guidance/assistance. ? Review, develop and prepare authorized changes to customer demographics (late fee waivers, file maintenance, extension requests etc) and recommend to Collection Administrator for approval as required. ? Suggest/recommend alternate processes to Collection Administrator to enhance overall departmental efficiencies. ? Receive calls and process any/all payment entries to accounts. Requirements ? Two (2) year Associates Degree in Business related discipline preferred. ? Minimum 4 years previous collection experience preferred ? Good working knowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Repossession Law (UCC9), Fair Debt Collection (FDCP), state and federal laws and Federal Regs • B? (Equal Opportunity Act) and • Z? (Truth In Lending Act) required. ? Proficiency in PC usage and automated collection systems required. ? Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
