As a member of the Statler Hotels Culinary Department management team, is responsible for assisting in overseeing the kitchen operations of the Statler Hotel.  This includes:  execution of a la carte operations, conference service , and banquet needs, production kitchen, maintaining budget goals, supervising staff, forecasting and execution of production, maintaining standards, and performing other duties.

Qualifications

A.S. degree in Culinary Arts.  A four year degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is preferred.  2-3 years experience in kitchen management position is required.  Must be proficient in baking, soup building, preparation of salads and entrees in bulk. Ability to train and supervise employees effectively. Ability to organize and plan work.  Strong mentoring skills with the ability to mentor students to act/think like managers through role modeling, supervision and feedback. Strong communication and excellent organization skills required. Professional demeanor indicative of what is expected in industry and the ability to create, with course instructors and hotel management, a dynamic and experiential learning environment for students.  Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel and food ordering system (ADACO).No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
