Overview: As a Holiday/Seasonal Sales Associate, you will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, including weekends and busy sales events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. Responsibilities include demonstrating outstanding customer service skills, meeting hourly selling and loyalty goals, providing product knowledge to our customers and working as part of a team to meet individual, department and store objectives. Key Accountabilities: * Greet customers within 30 seconds and begin the process of delivering an outstanding Macys shopping experience * Maintain a positive professional attitude reflecting Macys commitment to our customer * Promptly and professionally answer all telephone inquiries * Through the use of vendor and store product knowledge tools, become familiar with merchandise and share this information with our customers * Close every sale with the offer to place it on a Macys account, and offer to open an account if the customer does not have one * Be familiar with all markdowns, special promotions, clearance and advertised merchandise * Know and use all Macys systems and procedures to enhance selling efficiencies and complete non-selling duties * Assist in maintaining merchandise presentation standards; in particular a clean, neat, and easy to shop environment * Be familiar with merchandise in back stock, and continuously replenish the selling floor as needed Skills Summary: * Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, the day after Thanksgiving, and the day after Christmas * Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic * Possess a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service, including both internal and external customers * Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business * Ability to work as part of a team, and take initiative independent of direct supervision * Previous retail experience preferred, but not required Macys is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. * Please refer to job code 49794 when responding to this ad.
