General Dynamics Information Technology has an opening for a Senior Information Security Engineer in Washington, DC. Candidate will work with an established team of security engineers within a government environment to evaluate new information and systems security technologies. The candidate will meet with vendors, evaluate technologies, test new technologies in a virtual lab, author or co-author whitepapers based on the findings, and develop processes and procedures to deploy new technologies to the enterprise environment. The enterprise systems include: Microsoft operating systems on desktops and servers, Linux, Unix, Cisco IOS, Firewalls, proxy servers, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, etc. The candidate must be familiar with these types of systems to successfully test and deploy new technologies without creating instability or problems with existing production systems. The candidate must also be familiar with calculating the risk associated with a given system, conduct vulnerability and penetration testing, and be prepared to fully document the testing, results, and recommendations related to security products. The candidate will also participate with input into the enterprise level change control board. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment providing direction and pointing out industry best practices to the rest of the team. The candidate must have excellent writing and communications skills. The candidate must be familiar with government or Department of Defense certification and accreditation policies, processes, and procedures. The candidate must be familiar with application testing processes and procedures and with working in a virtual lab environment. The candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Candidate should have a Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience in a technology related field. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience with government systems and security requirements. Preferred certifications include MCSE, MCSA Security+, CCNA, CCNP, RHCE or Linux certification, Unix certification (Sun, IBM, HP). Experience preferred with the following or similar technologies: Encase Enterprise, Bluecoat Proxy, McAfee ePO Anti-Virus, SIM/SEM system. CISSP certification is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience preferred with government or DoD information systems security and policy. Experience preferred working with hardware, software, and network technologies in a large distributed environment. Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
