General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) & the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position requires development of an account strategy, ability to analyze customer budgets, requirements and trends from a large integrator and IT service provider perspective with a focus on obtaining new business. Ability to understand agency mission and requirements of the NHI & CDC iis essential. Director must identify and drive opportunities through the business acquisition process from identification to award. Must be able to qualify and close both IDIQ and single award opportunities that meet both long and short-term budget goals. The Director of BD will be responsible for supporting our competitive position and conveying our capabilities to key customers. Coordinates and exchanges information and leads with managers and other personnel. Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a technical discipline. Masters Degree preferred. Requires 15 years of related experience in marketing/BD and sales in the government contracting industry. Ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing sales and profitability as well as closing large, complex opportunities. Range of experience should include winning contract vehicles and follow through on tasks of various sizes. Strategic planning experience preferred. Must have a solid understanding of the business acquisition process and Business Development in the government contracting industry selling Healthcare IT Solutions with a heavy emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). Ability to qualify and close both strategic ($50M and above) and tactical opportunities through their relationships with the customer and the integrator community.
