The Challenge

* Member of the DPP Global Finance Team, reporting to Business Group CFO. * Review and validate the Business Units on the content of their management reports, budgets, forecasts and other financial analysis. * Consolidate monthly and quarterly BU management reports (including budgets and pipeline reporting) into a consolidated BG management report.  Analyze BU and BG financials to ensure reliability, identify trends and explain deviations. Report to CFO on findings and facilitate sharing of best practices. * Validate business purpose, financial modeling and key assumptions of BU Capital Application Requests.  Advise CFO on quality of proposal, sensitivity/risk analysis and alternatives.  Gatekeeper for standardization and sharing of best practices as it relates to capital requests and reporting. * Work closely with BU Controllers and BG Chief Accountant to continuously improve and tailor management reporting templates.  Assist in fully leveraging SAP/BW and other reporting tools. * Day-to-day controller for BG Staff & Service departments including R&D and ICT costs. * Pro-actively identify financial and business risk areas and initiate result-oriented analysis. Provide recommendations and alternative solutions to the CFO. * Support the implementation of DSM Corporate requirements as it relates to Finance and Control. * Provide (early stage) financial support to innovation, strategic business development and acquisition projects: financial modeling (DCF) as well as validation of key value assumptions. * Contribute to and sometimes lead multidisciplinary teams to execute important BG projects, such as corporate F&C initiatives as well as strategy studies, acquisitions and restructurings.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Finance and MBA required. * 5-7 years as Business/site Controller or Finance Manager. * Ability to think in a disciplined, critical and analytical approach. * Experience and knowledge of DCF financial modeling and other valuation concepts, extensively applied during acquisitions, investment selection or evaluation of other business opportunities. * Strong communicative skills to be able to effectively support and challenge business teams. * Affinity with and knowledge of pharmaceutical industry. * More than basic knowledge of SAP/BW or comparable reporting tools. * Ability to lead or facilitate interdisciplinary teams with no direct reporting authority. * Extensive project management experience. * Domestic (4-6 times per year) and International (1-2 times per year) travel required. * Willingness to relocate within the next 5 years, most likely to Europe or Asia. * Extensive project management experience.
