Positions in this function maintain and enhance relationships with state regulators and interface with business regarding State regulatory affairs. Respond to inquiries, requests and actions by State regulators, including completing regulatory filings. Track new laws and regulations in coordination with Government Affairs and support business implementation to ensure compliance. Anticipates policy and regulatory issues and reviews proposed legislation and regulations both from a content and political perspective and coordinates closely with Government Affairs on proposed laws that may impact the business. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed. Position may also perform legal research and report generation, including tracking through enterprise databases (Lexis, Inssource, StateNet) .- Works with less structured, more complex issues.- Serves as a resource to others. Five or more years demonstrated work experience in legislative implementation of new health care laws. Must have healthcare payer and/or insurance experience. Experience in subrogation, investigation and interpretation of Health and/or Insurance law requirements for 5 Mid Atlantic states. Strong research skills and experience with appeals, understanding of claims issues and regulatory filings.
