Title: Sr. HR Generalist Location: NJ-Roseland General Overview: Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will conduct day to day HR operations for specified practice areas of the Firm. Consult with management to identify and frame human resources issues and solutions to business problems. * Act as advisor and coach to line managers on human resources issues such as managing change, supporting a positive work environment. * Oversee development and implementation of human resources processes and programs, including but not limited to: performance management, organizational development, talent management, training and development, advancement and the compensation review process. * Manage day-to-day operational assistance on human resources issues. Consult with managers on performance issues (including terminations, grievances, etc.), staffing plans and strategies, compensation plans and other issues. Counsel employees on various issues (grievances, terminations, etc.) while maintaining employer advocacy role. * Manage Ad hoc Requests and Projects, such as: Ongoing compliance review (FLSA classification, visa requests, labor posters, annual mailings), HR related transactions (such as terminations, leaves, new hires, internal transfer, increases), Report generation (headcount, turnover, requisitions, merit, bonus), Development of policies and standard operating procedures * All new hires are subject to work eligibility verification via the DHS E-Verification System Required Qualifications: Key factors for success in this role include Accountability and Influence, Business Acumen, Client Focus and Seamless Service. Specific experience and qualifications include: * A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field/equivalent required. * Experience as an HR Generalist in a Financial Services firm is preferred. * Must have 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources with exposure to and demonstrated competence in all functional areas. * Must have substantial successful experience consulting with all levels of management. * Must have a strong customer focus and be able to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence. * Must possess strong change management skills, i.e., comfortable with uncertainty, ambiguity, and constant change, yet able to set priorities and execute on commitments. * Must have a solutions-focus, being able to sort through information and develop concise and clear solutions quickly. * Must have the courage/confidence to be able to deliver constructive feedback and coaching to clients. * Must be able to foster open and honest communications and be able to provide coaching that is relevant and actionable. * Must have strong experience in employee relations. * Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR operations and administration. * Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving. * Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills. * Must be comfortable with delivering presentations and facilitating training. * Able to manage high volume workload and have a flexible approach.
