Position Description(duties and responsibilities): As a member of the DRS Fort Monmouth Team, the New Capture/Business Development Manager will be responsible for seeking, identifying, and capturing new business opportunities for DRS Technical Services, Inc. The Capture/Business Development Manager will apply demonstrated experience in the planning, management and conduct of all capture opportunities ($50M - $400M range). Successfully lead the capture of multiple efforts including tasks such as: preparing opportunity assessments, building and maintaining opportunity pipelines, implementing capture strategies following rigorous processes, conducting meetings with senior government officials, responding to statements of work/performance work statements, writing new business proposals, and assisting with price to win analysis. The New Capture/ BD Manager will provide the leadership necessary to mount an effective pursuit campaign aimed at capturing specific business opportunities with emphasis on new customer or new program capture. Assesses the short and long term trends of the respective market place and advises management of specific actions to capitalize on these trends. Analyzes customer requirements, needs, and resources. Establishes goals and objectives within the assigned area of responsibility. Provides customer, competitor, and market intelligence relating to proposals being undertaken by the organization. The Successful candidate participates in tradeshow, demonstration planning, and execution. Identifies advertising venues, writes material, stewards material through chain-of-command. They will be a key team member working with staff functional support personnel in the identification, pursuit, and capture of new business opportunities in realization of the divisions Strategic Plans. . Basic Qualifications BS/BA in an engineering field or technical field with emphasis on Information Technology as it applies to large scale network can communications infrastructure and 10+ years of related experience (at least seven (7) of which must have been spent in significant engineering/technical and project supervisory assignments involving independent decision making and comparative responsibility) OR 13-16 years of related experience. Experience must have included complete fiscal accountability for a moderate sized project area in addition to the management of its engineering, budgeting, planning, procurement and scheduling activities. Membership or affiliation with professional organizations in the engineering or technical specialty preferred. Knowledge of DoD markets with direct US Army business development experience is required Must be a US citizen. Must hold, or be capable of obtaining a SECRET clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; will be subject to a government security investigation.
