For this key leadership role, we are looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance professional who has deep understanding and experience in software testing. This person will be responsible for: CONSULTATIVE PARTNERSHIP: Work with dedicated lines of business managers and to fully understand the technology applications and develop effective and efficient QA testing solutions to meet the business needs. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage quality assurance testing projects and activities. Work closely with IT Project Leads in developing test plans, strategies, resource estimates, scheduling, timelines, and overall responsibility for meeting test related project deliverables. Promote collaborative application life cycle development and adherence to Technology and Corporate Standards, Project Management Methodology (PMM), Systems Development Methodology (SDM), and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Develop QA Testing Strategy, Test Program, and Training Programs for assigned application domain. STAFF LEADERSHIP: Provide supervision, guidance, mentorship and leadership to a team of up to 15 experienced Quality Assurance Analysts. Additionally, secure and supervise offshore resources as required. Exercise supervisory authority over staff with respect to staffing, hiring, performance management, salary recommendations, employee development, and termination. STRATEGIC PLANNING: Work with the department managers to assist in developing and implementing short and long term strategic direction for this newly created department. Stay abreast of Information Technology and Bank objectives to ensure that the team is strategically assigned to projects that provide the greatest benefit to M&T Bank. Evaluate and provide Recommendations for Test Tools and QA Test Process Improvements. Minimum Qualifications Required: 7+ years of software testing experience Experience in automated testing Demonstrated experience leading large, complex testing projects Proven knowledge of both project and test life cycle methodology 5+ years leading a team of 7 or more employees in software testing roles Demonstrated experience in evaluating testing projects, articulating ideas and developing alternative recommendations and presenting solutions in verbal and written format Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong leadership and managerial skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ideal Qualifications Preferred: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field Solid web e-commerce or web banking application knowledge Related professional certifications Solid expertise in both automated and manual testing Please refer to job code 1953001 when responding to this ad.
