Demonstrated ability to develop external support for program activities. Description: This position will provide program leadership to help North Dakota agri-entrepreneurs achieve their potential. Responsibilities include developing educational materials and delivering programs needed by entrepreneurs, existing business owners and community leaders to create new wealth for North Dakota residents and communities by extending and expanding their capacities to take advantage of new markets, technologies and business opportunities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Coach/work with individual and small groups of agri-entrepreneurs to develop and implement effective business strategies. - Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of an annual in-depth, intense educational program for agri-entrepreneurs. - Coordinate with university research and Extension faculty and staff associated with value-added agri-business development to address the problems and needs of the agricultural and food product processors in North Dakota. - Locate, contact and confer with existing food and agricultural product processors regarding their business planning, marketing, labor, site selection, product development/processing, and/or product distribution needs. - Assist rural communities in identifying local economic development opportunities. - Develop educational materials to be disseminated through educational meetings, in-depth training, publications and new technologies including web-based, webinars and others, as appropriate. - Link/connect North Dakota entrepreneurs to emerging technologies and local, state and federal resources such as APUC, SBDC, Dept. of Commerce and other related agencies. - Evaluate program impact on learning, economic gains and costs avoided.
