Senior Security Analyst

Senior Security Analyst Contract until 1/18/2010 initially - initial length of assignment may be extended or possible temp to perm position Sr. Security Analysts primary responsibility is to ensure that proper information security controls are defined and implemented within domestic as well as International IT environments. The role holder must have the ability to review and recommend security safeguards and configurations in a highly complex system infrastructure with demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately incorporate layered security safeguards within the network perimeter, internal network, application, and data layers. The role holders responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) assessing third party vendor security controls, performing information systems vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (including recommendations for remediation), assessing application security controls (using both automated and manual tools), participation in information security architecture designs, performing information security incident investigations, and identifying opportunities for security control continuous improvement. Minimum Education: Undergraduate degree (4 years) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, or related discipline Minimum Experience: Years: 5 Demonstrated experience conducting network and application security vulnerability assessments. In depth working knowledge of network (i.e. Foundstone or QualysGuard) and application (i.e. APPSCAN) security vulnerability tools Past experience in identifying and prioritizing information security risks and recommending mitigating controls Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to communicate with departmental division and executive leaders within the organization Strong organizational and analysis skills Background in Information Systems Audit or Information Systems Security Certifications in any of the following preferred (CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, etc.) Minimum Knowledge and Skills 5 years experience within IT Audit or IT Security role for a public accounting firm, a professional services firm, or within the insurance industry 3+ years experience with Information Security technologies, tools, and practices 1+ years experience performing network and application vulnerability scans Oral and written communication skills
