Job Category: Information Technology Job Title: Network Services/Support Project Name: USi WEB Hosting Senior Firewall and Network Engine Project Description: The Web Hosting Operations Tier II group responsible for managing complex problem escalations, performance tuning and outage mitigation. Job Description: The candidate as part of the Tier II team also has responsibility for providing detailed troubleshooting concepts in response to operational deficiencies, client satisfaction results and system reliability. Candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing operational standards and guidelines for the management and maintenance of large scale firewall architecture. This position directly interfaces with external clients and is highly visible. This position is in support for designed and deployed backend management network through the use of secure tunnels, frame relay and layer 3 networking. The position involves complex problem engagements, interfacing with customers, vendors and developers, performance tuning, and development of ad-hoc tools to aid in identifying trends and isolating problems during times of critical need. Technical Support for critical situations Perform project / engineering reviews Technically manage major / complex outages Technically lead discussion with peers and clients Perform chronic problem analysis and corrective planning Communicate with Senior Management The job is in a production operations environment and requires 24 x 7 service coverage. The position requires a very strong technical professional specializing in network security, firewalls and security technologies, performance tuning, packet decodes and analysis. MUST HAVE the following to apply: 1. Expert level knowledge of Checkpoint Firewall-1/VPN software (NG-AI) 2. UNIX Skills (Intermediate to Advanced) 3. Advanced and solid experience in troubleshooting layer 2 and 3 routing and switching issues 4. Protocol decoding and analysis using a variety of software tools 5. An understanding of Internet DNS, HTTP, web acceleration, media streaming protocols and load balancing concepts. 6. Technical leadership during high visibility outages and maintenance activity. 7. Citrix Netscaler Load Balancer experience. 8. Technical Consultative Skills and the ability to manage projects. 9. Knowledge of protocol analysis tools used to troubleshoot layer 2 & 3 issues 10. A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience as a multiple areas of technology is required. 11. This position requires a broad skill set across networking and security. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Checkpoint 2. CCIE PREFFERANCE: The ideal candidate would have several of the following - CCSE (Checkpoint Certified System Engineer) - CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) - CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) - Background as a technology consultant - Experience as a solutions architect or integrator - Advanced knowledge of the IDC infrastructure, architecture and technologies - Advanced knowledge of the monitoring and management tools employed within the managed Hosting service.
