Senior Auditor - IT

Due to our consistent growth and prosperity, we are looking to fill a key Senior Audit IT role within the Internal Audit IT department of M&T Bank. IT AUDIT RESPONSIBILITY: Supervising the completion of internal examinations and communicating findings and results to management. Communicate recommendations to improve internal controls and reduce risk to Line Management. Supervise Assistant Senior Auditors and Staff Auditors Works with the Manager to establish appropriate budgets and timeframes. Participate in special projects, investigations and initiatives as necessary. This position takes responsibility for identifying and effectively communicating control deficiencies. Lack of appropriate controls could lead to monetary loss for the Bank and/or regulatory criticism, which could result in a decrease to the Banks rating by the Federal Reserve Bank. This position directly communicates with Senior, Middle and Line Management and External Auditors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree ? preferably Computer Science or Management Information Systems 3-5 years relevant professional work experience (i.e. auditing/banking/technology) Strong PC skills Prior IT Auditing experience (at least 2+ years) Strong leadership and project management skills Working knowledge of auditing standards and federal and state regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and negotiating skills Ability to handle conflict Strong organizational and resource management skills Ability to travel (about 10%) IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: MBA Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Bank Auditor certification Certified Information Systems Auditor One to three years supervisory experience Prior banking or bank auditing experience a plus
