Category Manager - Supervalu

Position Description

Under the direction of the Account Manager Supervalu, the Category Manager will be responsible for providing technical and analytical support on category management and space management initiatives as well as customer profitability analyses for the Supervalu account.  The Category Manager is responsible for managing Supervalus forecasting process for all channels of business, and developing traditional supermarket trade plot for all brands (Entenmanns, Arnold, S.B. Thomas, Brownberry and Boboli) except Marinela and Bimbo.  
The Category Manager will also help develop strategic customer-specific category plans focusing on the areas of category assessment, product rationalization, and promotion analysis in addition to the implementation of tactical plans through the creation of store-specific planograms. The Category Manager will utilize IRI data and data from other sources to identify growth opportunities across all categories and publish monthly IRI dashboards.  The person will also provide analyses, reports and presentations, and other materials such as business reviews and promotional evaluations, and participate in account calls.
Position Requirements
--Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related Business field. Advanced degree a plus.  
--1-2 years of consumer packaged goods sales or marketing experience.
--Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
--Excellent communication skills
--Proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Powerpoint and Excel
--Excellent organizational skills
--Understands P&L statements and the General Ledger
