Reports to: The Help Desk Manager
Brief Description of position: As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, the Junior System Administrator primary role will be Desktop and Basic IT Support for our organization, and will support the system administrators in their tasks maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure.
Primary responsibilities will include: Support for hardware and software needs throughout the organization Basic printer troubleshooting and driver installation. Develop and document help desk procedures Windows installation General technical support tasks. New hire setup Workstation image creation/testing/rollout
Other tasks that will be required: Any other tasks assigned by the company from time to time Part of off-hours Helpdesk Support rotation.
Key Competencies: Experience with Windows XP installation and networking Good verbal & written communication Reliable, proactive attitude Desire to learn Certification in related field a plus Some Linux experience a plus Solid understanding of PC hardware Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with Symantec Ghost/Altiris imaging. working knowledge of Active Directory Master one or more of the HMS infrastructure: o Phone system o Alarm system/card key access o Antivirus o Altiris Imaging o MX Logic Mail filtering o Basic Backup Tape Management Advanced problem resolution Proper categorization, prioritization and assignment of help desk tickets for engineering staff Solid Linux skills needed for account creation Diligent asset management. Solid understanding of and adherence to HMS IT standard operation procedures.
