.Net Developer

Aavalar Consulting has been contracted by a hot new startup company in Chester County PA to provide an outstanding ASP.NET / C# Developer on a contract to hire basis.  This individual will work on a suite of software products that is highly customizable and configurable based on our customer's client needs.  While software development skills are important, communication skills are also very important.  The individual in this position will be responsible for fielding ad hoc enhancement requests and some technical support calls from customers.

Title:  Software Developer / Support Engineer

Work Location: Near West Chester, PA

Is Telecommuting possible? Probably not at first

Work environment :
Cube in a pretty standard suburban office park.  Bull pen environment right now, but customer is upgrading office space soon.

Who does this position will report to?:  Founder of the company

Why is there a need for a consultant/contractor?
Our client is creating explosive growth.  They need to staff up.

What is the start date of the contract?:  ASAP

What is the anticipated length/scope of the contract?: 
6 months then possible direct hire or contract extension (our client is open to full time hire immediately for the right person)

What is the size of department?: Currently 4 to 6 developers

What projects will the consultant be involved with?:
Development of two new software product lines.
Customization of existing products for new customers.

Responsibilities:
70% new product development
30% customization and/or enhancements to existing products
Create custom web pages, and reports per customer requirements

Role with the group (manager, programmer, etc.):
Initially this will be an individual contributor position, but the client would like this developer to grow so that they can lead and manage implementations.

Required Skills:
Communication and customer service orientation.
Full life cycle .NET software development including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and support.
Deep understanding of Object Oriented Development (OOD) concepts such Interfaces, etc.
Solid experience writing HTML, DHTML, and XML
Mid level to advanced ASP.NET front end development
Solid C# development skills
SQL Server development experience (SQL, Stored Procedures, triggers, etc., etc.)
Experience manipulating and interfacing to Excel

Desired Skills:
Power Industry, Electrical Power Transmission, Economics, Data Analysis.
Understanding of Web Services.

Work Hours and Schedule:  Hey... It's a startup... You work when you have to.

Is overtime paid, and is it at straight time?  Salary position

How is compensation structured?
This is a contract to hire position, so initially you will work for Aavalar Consultant and probably be converted to a direct employee of our client at some point.

Base Salary: 60K to 70K range
Bonuses:    Based on performance once hired by the client
Stock options: TBD - Our client's Board of Directors is exploring an option pool
