Description *  The Atlantic Wire, an opinion aggregation site affiliated with TheAtlantic.com, is looking for a Web-savvy writer to cover debates around the major news stories of the day. The Atlantic Wire is a fast-paced site that tracks and analyzes opinion journalism from across the spectrum and from all outlets. The ideal candidate is a journalist well-versed in the world of bloggers, op-ed writers, and TV pundits. You write quickly and accurately on major events in politics, business and international affairs. We also value fluency in culture, technology, and any other field where major debates take place. Our mission is to focus on the news and to grow rapidly into a major Web destination for news and opinion. Duties include: identifying, pitching and writing 4-6 posts a day at a high level of editorial quality consistent with the style of the site; writing Twitter-length updates; and assisting with the maintenance of our content tagging system. We also value basic photo-editing ability, and a collaborative, flexible attitude. This job reports to the executive editor the Atlantic Wire, is full-time, and is based in Washington, D.C.
