Title: Business Development Manager Location: NY-New York Job Title:Business Development Manager Officer Title: Director Business: Global Transaction Services Division: GTS Business Development Location: New York NY Reporting Structure: Position reports to North America Head of Business Development Position Objective: Candidate who fills this position will be a senior member of the North American Business Development Team which is responsible for acquisitions, partnerships, distribution alliances, and other key strategic initiatives in Treasury and Trade Services (TTS) Division of Global Transaction Services. Main focus of this position will be to identify, analyze, propose, and establish strategic initiatives which become "game changers" for our North America business and have meaningful impact on the TTS P&L. Key Responsibilities: * Identify and evaluate acquisition candidates that can be accretive to TTS; work with firm-wide partners (e.g., Corporate M&A) to drive and execute deals (e.g., business case development, financial modeling, consensus building) * Carefully select, structure, and negotiate win-win partnerships which can quickly result in meaningful revenue contribution * Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., product partners, technology, legal) to execute deals and get it implemented by the appropriate product organization * Identify strategic development opportunities within key areas (public sector, financial institutions, corporate clients, origination and distribution, payment and trade ecosystems, emerging payment technologies etc) * Work with product teams and coverage organization to identify new and emerging business/distribution requirements and partnership opportunities. * Evaluate and prioritize ideas and opportunities through business judgment and fact-based business and financial analysis * Engage with executives of prospective/current partners to develop opportunities and negotiate partnerships that can generate meaningful impact for the business * Develop and maintain relationships internally (across products and coverage) and externally (e.g., with fin tech co, private equity, conferences) to gather and synthesize the latest flow of opportunities, deals, and innovation Development Value: * Opportunity to have significant potential impact on the business and influence the future direction and initiative prioritization for the business * Highly entrepreneurial role with a lot of room for innovation and new business building -good mix of commercial and strategic activity * Opportunity to interact with the senior most representatives of partners or prospective partners, be the external face on the most visible deals * Broad senior exposure in GTS across regions and functions, as well as with external parties * Bachelors Degree * 10 years of relevant financial services experience * Knowledge of the transaction services space preferred (e.g., cash management, payments, receivables, trade services, trade finance) and firm understanding of technology * Senior presence and ability to operate at different levels (e.g., research/analysis, thought-partnership with seniors, presentations, interactions with partners, deal negotiation/structuring, etc) * Ability to influence and coordinate multiple internal stakeholders around a common goal and strategy, particularly on specific deals or well-defined opportunities * Track record of delivering results * Travel required Competencies: * Ability to be a "strategic thinker" and a "practical doer"; entrepreneurial mind * Outcome-driven self-starter with track record of delivering results * Solid structuring and negotiating skills * Strong communication skills -in particular ability to structure, synthesize, and articulate a coherent and compelling case for opportunities. * Exceptional strategic judgment-strong business problem definition and solving skills -fact-based approach * Proven ability to work independently and be self-starter * Flexibility in reprioritizing tasks as * Ability to multi-task, work in an unstructured environment, and flexibility to reprioritize * Strong and demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work with and influence a diverse and senior team of business leaders, peers, and various internal stakeholders * Quick study-demonstrated problem solving skills, ability to analyze business issues with limited (but the right) facts
