Perfoms installs, upgrades, and remedial repairs for an assigned customer base. Applicant must be proficient with network installs and troubleshooting. Willingness to travel is a must. Good interpersonal relationship skills, time management and organizational skills needed. Customer Service excellence needed. A Local Platform Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaing, and troubleshooting all Activant supplied computer hardware, including Dell PCs, Dell Servers, Laser Printers, Receipt printers, Cash Drawers, Barcode Scanners, and advanced network equipment. This position will be responsible for covering the region which includes Syracuse, NY. Requirements Associates Degree in Electronics, Information Technologys, or Computer Technology. Field Service and Networking experience and MCP certification a major plus (MCSE preferred). If prospect does not have a current MCP: 70-290 Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment, the prospective employee must agree to completion of Microsoft 70-290 within 6 months of employment start date.
