The School of Engineering at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professorship in biomedical engineering, depending on qualifications, to begin in August, 2010.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective teaching, research, service, and advising. Specific responsibilities will include teaching courses in bioinstrumentation, control systems, medical imaging, physiological signal processing and systems physiology. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester, along with research, advising and service responsibilities.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in biomedical engineering, or a related field. All candidates must demonstrate development of and plans for a research program that integrates their teaching and scholarly interests. Preference will be given to those applicants who have appropriate teaching and research experience for the rank of assistant or associate professor and experience with curriculum/lab development. Industrial experience and professional licensure are a plus.

The School of Engineering (SoEng) offers Bachelor of Science degrees in civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering, engineering science with concentrations in biomedical or engineering management, as well as Bachelor of Science degrees in technology education/ pre-engineering education and math/science/technology education. The SoEng also offers a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Engineering. The biomedical engineering program has grown rapidly and currently enrolls over 100 students and is eagerly planning for the future in conjunction with the strategic plan for the School.
