Title: Sr. Business Development Manager - PNT Location: NJ, Clifton Req Number: itti-00016064 Position Description: ITT is seeking a key individual to provide business development leadership as Senior Business Development Portfolio Manager Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) for the Space Systems Division (SSD). The Space Systems Division is a leader in PNT and related technologies and products in the areas of space payloads, control systems, and user equipment. This position is located in Clifton NJ or Vienna, VA. Scope and Position Duties This individual will be a critical contributor to new business capture strategy development and execution for the Navigation (Nav) and related SSD business sectors and will report to the Executive Director, Strategic Business Development for PNT Programs. The individual will be a key driver in establishing and maintaining customer relationships between ITT SSD and customer leadership with direct accountability for strategic business growth, assessment of opportunities and management of pursuits. Position Duties include: Develop and maintain relationships with key PNT community stakeholders and customers. Develop, maintain, and implement strategic roadmap of PNT pursuits in close coordination with strategic business development, capture managers, marketing communications, competitive intelligence, and legislative affairs personnel. Enhance recognition of ITT as PNT thought leaders through participation in conferences and related community events. Assess business trends, user requirements, and customer technology investments and product funding profiles. Engages PNT engineering functional experts to identify key technology discriminators. Engages PNT business experts to develop price to win strategies. Facilitates opportunity maturation through the Value Based Product Development (VBPD) process. Determines the personnel requirements and capital resource needs for a particular pursuit working closely with business unit functional experts. Provide input into the Independent Research and Development Process (IRAD) to focus technology investments toward new business pursuits. Track and brief new business pursuit status to SSD and Navigation business unit leadership. Provides capture managers and proposal teams with key customer requirements, industry discriminators, and price-to-win inputs to enhance win probability. Leads integrated team of capture managers, engineering personnel and contracts specialists to establish Teaming Agreements (TAs) and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with prospective partners to enhance win probability. Develops discriminating technological solutions in coordination with Mission System Group (MSG) engineering personnel in response to customer requirements and to increase win probability. Synthesizes Voice of Customer (VOC) inputs with capture managers, MSG, and strategic business development personnel to identify and develop new business pursuits. Assess new business opportunity probability of existence/probability of win and incorporate into SSD databases to support financial projections. Coordinate with the strategic planning staff and SSD/Navigation business unit leadership on branding initiatives, merger and acquisition evaluation, licensing requirements, Intellectual Property Issues (IP) and strategic alliance development. Expectation of business travel 30%-50%. Supervisory Responsibility: None, but will be expected to lead diverse new business pursuit teams. Financial Responsibilities: This individual will be jointly responsible for Navigation business development growth goals. Experience Requirements: Experience Requirements: A BA/BS in a business or technical discipline (MBA preferred), minimum of 15 years of professional work in PNT or related technology areas with 5 years minimum in business development roles. Demonstrated knowledge in PNT or related technology end user equipment technologies and products preferably in a business development role. Proven experience opening up new government and commercial markets and/or inserting new products into existing markets. Experience in managing pursuits through the business development evaluation process from identification through transition to program capture management. Ability to build business cases integrating market segmentation analysis, customer requirements, competitive intelligence, company discriminating capabilities and risk areas. Demonstrated experience interacting with executives at the highest senior levels. Excellent written communications and presentations skills. Participation as a PNT thought leader in conferences representing industry leadership. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects with personnel from diverse disciplines and experience. Demonstrated broad knowledge of PNT industry preferably with an emphasis on user equipment and related technologies and applications. Motivational leadership skills to focus activities to obtain new business results in a highly competitive environment.
