The Mental Health Care Advocate will assist with assessment/triage as well as outpatient and concurrent review while managing a broad range of diagnostic patient cases Primary Responsibilities: * Focus on initial inpatient admission for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients * Making patient assessments and determining appropriate levels of care * Obtaining information from providers on outpatient requests for treatment * Determining if additional clinical treatment sessions are needed * Managing inpatient and outpatient mental health cases throughout the entire treatment plan * Administering benefits and reviewing treatment plans * Coordinating benefits and transitions between various areas of care * Identifying ways to add value to treatment plans and consulting with facility staff or outpatient care providers on those ideas At OptumHealth, you will perform within an innovative culture that's focused ontransformational change in the health care system. And you will make contributions that will have an impact that's greater than you've ever imagined. * Licensed Master's degree-level clinician in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling OR Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with experience in behavioral health. * Licenses must be active and unrestricted * 3 years of demonstrated experience in a related mental health environment * MS Office proficiency Additional Preferred Assets: * Inpatient experience * Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse * Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients * Managed Care experience * Intake or EAP experience Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.
