Job Description Position Location: Position can be be based at any of these locations: Riverwoods, IL (Discover Headquarters) or New Castle, DE, or West Valley, UT. This is a newly-created, full-time Training / Curriculum Designer position within Discovers dynamic and growing Cardmember Services Consumer Banking Division. This position will, in turn, be in Discovera?s Training Center of Excellence. We are looking for a world-class Curriculum Designer with experience in the online banking arena. Our Curriculum Designers manage several design projects simultaneously for a multitude of functions using state of the art XML curriculum development tools. Curriculum Designers at Discover are responsible designing and developing industry-leading training solutions for both call center representatives and back office personnel who help our cardholder and consumer banking customers. This position will support our online banking business, so the candidate must have experience with in the online banking area, ideally helping train personnel that help customers with CDs, money market accounts, and online savings accounts. Our goal is to produce the best training in the industry. Come join our team! Qualifications To qualify, you must have: a? Bachelors Degree. a? 2 years, minimum, banking work experience, specifically in consumer banking products such as CDs, money market accounts, and savings accounts. a? Strong knowledge of banking regulations. a? 5 years, minimum, work experience in instructional design and curriculum development experience with background in developing classroom- and web-based training materials. a? Experience building curriculum based upon a sound understanding of adult learning theories. a? Proficiency in project management tools and learning solution protocols. a? Problem-solving and consensus-building skills. a? Ability to manage multiple projects successfully. a? Ability to solicit and give verbal and written feedback in a constructive manner. a? Ability to interact with various levels of management concerning training needs curriculum projects. a? Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels to ensure appropriate communications. a? Ability to lead projects within timelines and budget parameters while meeting or exceeding client satisfaction. a? Ability to define appropriate learning technology, ie; multi-media, classroom, web-based, CBT, distance learning self-study classroom, self-study for results focused learning. a? Ability to assess the extent to which materials meet business and performance objectives. a? Creativity and enthusiasm. Additional Optional Education, Work Experience,etc.: a? Proficiency with Fiserv end-user tasks. a? Proficiency with XML Authoring tools, graphics editing applications, and eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate.
