Associate DMPK Scientist

• Design of optimized, fit-for-purpose aqueous dose formulations (oral and parenteral) for use in in vivo preclinical studies • Perform experiments accurately and efficiently following standard operating procedures such as SHE protocols. • Documents results of experiments by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data in compliance with agreed procedures and practices. Experimental details should be captured in a fashion sufficient to facilitate reproducibility. • Maintain accurate records and relay data and summary reports in a timely manner • Followup on aberrant findings and develop and implement remediation plans. • Operate and maintains equipment and instruments with a high degree of technical proficiency. • Keep current regarding appropriate techniques and scientific advances in the area of formulation, applying knowledge to the job responsibilities. Qualifications • BS degree in Chemistry, Biology or Pharmaceutical Science with a working knowledge of liquid dose formulation design principals and practices as applied to CNS drug discovery. • Prior related industrial experience is strongly preferred. • The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the impact of structure and physicochemical properties on formulation design and be able to apply empirical methods and computational models for assessment and prediction of aqueous drug solubility. • Excellent organizational skills are required to manage a heavy workload while adhering to strict delivery timelines. The position also requires excellent communication skills to ensure proactive engagement with a customer base that spans the entire Wilmington Discovery organization.
