Main Function This position is part of the NY Legal Department, which in turn is part of the Global Legal Department of Barclays Capital. Main Duties Commercial contracts covering the following areas: technology (hardware and software), intellectual property, data, indices, e-commerce, human resources; outsourcing; services contracts for leasing, construction and building arrangements; Advice on media and internet law and sponsorship agreements Corporate activity (directors duties and corporate governance); and Some experience with divestitures , M&A Activity and joint ventures. The lawyer must be confident in dealing with senior managers and suppliers and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. The lawyer is responsible for his or her own matters and files. The candidate will be responsible for continuing and building on the legal relationship with Sourcing, Finance and other infrastructure units. Raising the profile of the Legal Team within Infrastructure and contributing to the control of risk through participation in risk management projects and advising on disputes.
