Primary Function(s): Reports to the Director of Engineering and Quality and collaborates closely with the Plant Manager. This position is accountable to plan, design, develop and implement major plant engineering projects in order to create and maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities to affect the most economical manufacturing cost. Job Duties: * Work with tooling and production departments to fabricate prototypes and determine design solutions prior to production unit construction. Write justifications and AFEs for project expenditures. * Investigate and solve problems in manufacturing of products. Perform manufacturing methods studies to determine optimum process and methods. * Develop operational procedures and manufacturing routings and production standards. * Design tooling and machinery necessary to implement advised processes and methods. * Implement cost reduction projects for methods, processes, and materials on present manufactured products. * Attend MVP training and lead MVP projects * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and governed by volume and workflow. Cooper Crouse-Hindsis an Equal Opportunity Employer - m/f/d/v Job Requirements : Special Requirements: * Minimum 5 years of work experience in Manufacturing Engineering, should be combined with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments troubleshooting manufacturing design problem, operating with in an ISO manufacturing standard and with satisfying customers in connector, cabling or automotive companies. * Experience with AUTOCAD 2005. * Experience with 3D modeling; preferably SOLIDWORKS design software. * Experience with Lean Manufacturing Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a related technical field. 2. 8-10 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience. Experience with military and aero-space connector or cable assemblies, preferred. 3. Demonstrated knowledge and previous experience with military and aero-space cabling designs and methods is required. 4. Must be computer literate with competent oral and written communication skills, must effectively communicate with all levels of personnel 5. Ability to establish and maintain constructive interpersonal relationships and function within a progressive team environment is required. 6. Must possess experience in training line personnel on process improvements. 7. Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
